Travelstart is an online travel pioneer. We launched the e-travel revolution in 1999 in Scandinavia before launching South Africa in 2006. We work with proprietary developed software and some of the best people in our industry in both development, customers services, operations and marketing. We are currently looking for an area manager in Turkey from the travel industry
Purpose and Scope of the role:
The ideal candidate will be a travel professional who knows the in’s and out of our industry. Your remit will be to take responsibility for our local business in Turkey and work closely with our supporting departments and business development team to make Travelstart the market leader in your country.
Key performance areas:
Identifying and closing new distribution deals
IATA/BSP relations
Supplier negotiations with airlines
Improving our content, SEO, blog content etc
Making sure we deliver our objectives in line with budget and company objectives
Research and report on translation problems and tweaks
Identify business opportunities within the local markets whilst mitigating risks
Understand our competitors and constantly stay abreast of their local movements
Identify payment providers and banks
Set-up new bank accounts and relationships with the local payment providers
Ensure the local business strategy aligns with the overall Travelstart objectives and goals
Mentor, train and motivate local customer service and ticketing staff
Person Profile
Skills and experience:
BSP and IATA qualified
Extensive travel industry experience, preferably travel agency manager, Airline GSA or from GDS.
Customer and sales focused – experience in driving sales figures and customer satisfaction
Personal attributes:
A self starter and a “doer” that will deliver upon our objectives.
Ability to adapt and understand new ways of working
Accountability and transparency.
Constant personal improvement to be the best you can be
Focus on costs and revenue improvement
